한국 쇼팽협회는 피아노의 시인으로 일컬어지는 쇼팽 예술의 이해와 선양을 위하여 폴란드 바르샤바에 본부를 두고 전세계 38개 쇼팽협회가 회원으로 구성된 <쇼팽협회 국제 연맹 In Federation of Chopin Society> 에 ’91년 공식 가입하였습니다.

창립 이래 지금까지 국내·외 피아니스트들의 상호 교류와 협력을 꾀하고, 협회의 목적과 관련되는 행사에 대한 후원과 추천 및 <쇼팽협회 정기 연주회> 를 비롯한 각종 행사를 주최하여 음악인들의 발전을 도모하고 있습니다. 또한 재능있는 젊은이들의 발굴·후원을 통해 음악적 기회를 열어주고자 ’91년부터 격년제로 <한국 쇼팽 콩쿨> 을, 97년부터는 <한국 주니어 쇼팽 피아노 콩쿨> 을 주최하고 있습니다. 현재 한국 쇼팽협회는 정진우 회장<서울대 명예교수>을 필두로 교수, 강사, 학생 등 300여명의 회원으로 구성되어 있으며 협회의 사무는 ㈜음연에서 주관하고 있습니다.

▒ The Chopin Society of Korea
For better understanding of Chopin’s piano works and other piano literatures, number of Korean pianists had established the Chopin Society which affliates with the Warsaw Chopin Society headquarter. The Chopin Society of Korea is a member of the International Federation of Chopin Society with other 38 countries.
The society is hosting a series of concerts promoting Chopin’s works along with the other Romantic piano compositions. It also sponsers the Chopin Piano Competition which now became on of the most prestigious awards in Korea. Through this awards, many gifted young pianists started a promising career. Presently, about 300 professional pianists including professor Dr. Jin_Woo Chung, the most respected artist and teacher in Korea, and active members, and the Eum Youn Co., Ltd., supports and manages all of the activities of the society. Recently, the society hosted The 1st Junior Chopin Competition of Korea.
